I’m Luiz Bon, an engineering manager at Prospa in Sydney, Australia.

Twenty years in software, ten of them writing code full time before I moved into leading teams. I lead engineering teams and set architecture direction across several of them. Most of my work sits in event-driven systems built in C# and .NET on Azure, using Service Bus, sagas, and the outbox pattern, with domain-driven design and OpenTelemetry underneath.

Lately I spend a lot of time on a narrower question: how do you let an engineering organisation use AI coding agents without giving up control of what they can reach? That has meant an internal MCP registry, an automated security review gate in CI, and a fair amount of arguing about where the line sits.

I’m also a full-time father, which is the harder of the two jobs.

I write here when I have had to solve something at work that I could not find written down anywhere. You can find me on GitHub and LinkedIn.
